HAVE A QUESTION

OFF-ROAD TOURS F.A.Q.

Do We Still Go If It’s Raining?2020-04-22T19:12:25+00:00

Of course we ride! Makes the adventure that much better. Our wet season in the Central Pacific area is from June – October, which means exploring the rainforest during this time there is a very good chance we will get wet! Even in mid summer you might catch a tropical rain shower in the remote rainforest.

How Dirty am I going to get?2020-04-22T19:11:58+00:00

It is guaranteed the you will get dirty on your adventure, depending on the weather conditions, the level of dirt you acquire will grow! If the conditions are dry expect a fine layer of dust on all exposed areas, and if the conditions are wet, expect mud inside and out!

I’m an Experienced Rider2020-04-22T19:13:47+00:00

We understand that the level of experience differs from every individual. That’s why focus on private tours always, making sure that the experience is as best as it can be. Mixing groups can cause unexperienced people to feel pressured into driving faster / outside of their comfort. And experienced people not enjoying the adrenaline packed adventure they’re hoping for. Our guides will be the judge in this case, as they are watching how you control the vehicle that will then determine if they take you through more challenging terrain.

Is It Safe?2020-04-22T19:10:35+00:00

We understand that trail riding on any vehicle is inherently risky. We go to great lengths to ensure that every ride is adventurous, educational, dirty, and of course safe. We may recommend you a different vehicle choice depending on your skill level and/or climate. Since the terrain can change depending on the climate, we always keep safety our #1 priority. Our BUGGY / TALON options are by far the safest choice, but still precautions must be taken. We provide a pre-ride safety instructions and rules of each tour to ensure the operator has the needed knowledge, if at any moment guests have difficulty with the pre-ride instructions or during the tour will be asked to ride as a passenger for their safety.

What about the Guide2020-04-22T19:13:17+00:00

All our guides are bilingual in English and Spanish to offer a better service + a key factor in our pre-ride safety instructions to ensure operating knowledge & dangers than can occur if you mess around. During the tour you must always follow the guide as he will always be the leader of the tour. They are to ensure road safety, with a clear passage with oncoming traffic, and trail level if to your level of skill or not. Groups larger than 5 vehicles we apply the lead + follow guide system that we have a guide leading and following the group to ensure no one is left behind. The guide(s) will also take you too remote areas and teach you of the nature, wildlife, and culture of the area. We believe our guides are an important role at AXR Jaco and we have grown into a great team.
