ABOUT THE TOUR
TOUR DESCRIPTION
Costa Rica is an excellent destination for adventure travel and the best way to see the fascinating landscape is on horseback, it has a great advantage of getting to remote places where you could not access by vehicle. Our well trained horses will take you through trails to the top of the mountain where there will be stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, then work our way back down the mountain, a little stretch on the beach, and back to town.
WHAT TO WEAR
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes during the Horseback Riding tour, shoes are always recommended as well as long pants to help prevent from rashes. Some still use shorts but there is a great chance of getting rashes from the movement from the saddle. Depending on the time you choose to ride horseback it may be hot and a hat would be perfect. (We recommend early morning / afternoon for the sunset, best times to ride!)
TIME TO RIDE
Jaco as you might already know is HOT! We always recommend if possible to choose the early times in the morning before the temperature climbs, or in the late afternoon for the sunset ride along the beach and to a lookout overlooking the beautiful beach town of Jaco. If you only have time to do it during mid day we will ride, we recommend that you wear a hat, sunscreen and bring extra water!
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
In Jaco, the Central Pacific area of Costa Rica, we have two remotely powerful seasons which we call: Dry Season (November – May) and Wet/Rainy Season (June – October). So we are used to the rain here, plus it’s not cold, actually doesn’t bother you too much unless it’s a downpour. We operate the Horseback Riding during rain or shine, that is up to you if you want to get wet. We do offer rescheduling with some time notice.
